Cumulus Cincinnati’s Top-Rated Morning Show Co-Hosts Chris O’Brien and Janeen Coyle Honored by the National Association of Broadcasters with 2022 Marconi Radio Award for Major Market Personality of the Year

CINCINNATI, OH – OCTOBER 20, 2021 – Cumulus Media (NASDAQ: CMLS) announces that its Chris O’Brien and Janeen Coyle, On-Air Hosts of the Married with Microphones morning show on Cumulus Cincinnati radio station 103.5 WGRR-FM, were honored by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) on Wednesday night in New York with a 2022 Marconi Radio Award for Large Market Personality of the Year.

The awards were presented at the NAB’s first in-person Marconi Radio Awards presentation in three years. Multimedia personality Nick Cannon hosted the event, which was part of the 2022 NAB Show New York held on October 19-20 at the Javits Center. Marconi Award finalists were selected by a task force of broadcasters and the winners were voted on by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The votes were tabulated by an independent firm.

Chris and Janeen can be heard weekdays from 5:00am-10:00am on 103.5 WGRR-FM. Married for 32 years, they met in 1979 while both worked at the same Cincinnati radio station. Chris joined WGRR in 1991 and has been named Best Radio Voice by Cincinnati Magazine and was a Billboard Personality of the Year nominee. Janeen joined WKRQ in 1979 while attending the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, and hosted overnights and middays, later moving to afternoon drive where she remained until 1988. Janeen went on to host the popular Chick Talk show on talk radio, and co-hosted morning drive on WKRC until she was contacted about joining Chris in 1995 to form a unique husband and wife team, leading to a daily live morning radio segment on WCPO-TV for several years. Chris and Janeen are deeply involved in the Cincinnati community, appearing at fundraising events and supporting the Arthritis Foundation, SPCA, Diabetes Association, Breast Cancer Awareness, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Cincinnati Association for the Blind, School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Cincinnati Arts Association and Kindervelt, among others in the tri-state area.

Jon Laing, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Cincinnati, said: “We are so incredibly proud of Chris and Janeen for this accomplishment. This achievement is the result of their day in, day out commitment to excellence both on and off the air. The entire Cumulus Cincinnati team is looking forward to celebrating with Chris and Janeen.”
