Q101 and The Smashing Pumpkins Will Salute The Metro’s 40th Anniversary By Broadcasting the Show Live on Q101
CHICAGO, IL, SEPTEMBER 9, 2022 – Cumulus Media’s Chicago Alternative Rock station Q101/WKQX-FM announces that it will present The Smashing Pumpkins Takeover starting Tuesday, September 13th at 6:00am and running through Tuesday, September 20th at 5:00pm. Every half hour every day, the station will give away a pair of tickets to a special live concert event at The Metro – the legendary club where it all started for The Smashing Pumpkins. “Q101 Presents An Evening With The Smashing Pumpkins” will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at 8:00pm at The Metro. The only way in is to win with Q101 – every half hour, starting Tuesday, September 13th. Q101 and The Smashing Pumpkins will salute The Metro’s 40th Anniversary of housing live music for Chicago by broadcasting the show live on Q101 for Chicagoland starting at 8:00pm that evening and streaming worldwide at www.q101.com.
Q101 will be selling commemorative Smashing Pumpkins/The Metro/Q101 t-shirts at The Metro concert event, with all proceeds donated to the Highland Park Community Foundation’s 4th of July Highland Park Shooting Response Fund.
