ATLANTA, GA, September 20, 2021 — CUMULUS MEDIA’s New Country 101FIVE/WKHX-FM in Atlanta, GA, announces that through the station’s “Buy a Ticket, Donate a Ticket to a Vet” promotion, 477 Atlanta veterans, active duty service members and their families, along with families of those killed in action, will attend the popular Country station’s first-ever 101FIVEFest on Friday, October 15th in Alpharetta, GA. Thanks to a successful weeklong promotion that ran through Labor Day weekend, New Country 101FIVE listeners bought 217 tickets to the station’s live Country music festival. Cumulus Atlanta, New Country 101FIVE and partners Auto Gallery, Ingles Supermarkets and Stillhouse Whiskey, matched the tickets purchased by listeners and donated 217 additional tickets at the same price levels (totaling over $10,000 in value) to non-profit Vet Tix. In addition, CUMULUS MEDIA and New Country 101FIVE donated an additional 260 tickets to meet the demand for tickets from Vet Tix. Vet Tix will distribute the 101FIVEFest tickets to 477 local service men and women, veterans of all branches of the U.S. military, and military families. Vet Tix provides tickets to events that reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build lifelong memories and encourage service members and veterans to stay engaged with local communities and American life.
New Country 101FIVEFest will kick off at 6:00pm on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA. The festival features live performances by Country music stars Brantley Gilbert, LANCO, Colt Ford and Lily Rose.
Sean Shannon, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Atlanta, said: “Atlanta is home to more than a quarter of a million vets and millions more of their family and friends. By allowing our fans to make a difference while they purchased a 101FIVEFest ticket is really the core of why we’re making this night of great Country music happen.”
Mike Moore, Program Director, New Country 101FIVE, said: “One thing we can all agree on is the feeling of gratitude for our military members and their families. We are thrilled to step up with our listeners to make this a tremendous night for Country music in Georgia.”
