The Westwood One Podcast Network will tap Megaphone for hosting, publishing, dynamic ad insertion, campaign management, and analytics tools to deliver targeted ads to its podcast listeners. The network had been using a variety of podcast platforms. Westwood One will also have the opportunity to opt into Megaphone Targeted Marketplace (MTM) in the future.
“Westwood One Podcast Network is dedicated to distributing, marketing, and monetizing high-quality original content at scale. Megaphone’s highly innovative hosting and distributing technology, as well as their sophisticated audience targeting solution, make them the perfect partner,” Westwood One President Suzanne Grimes said in the announcement.
Megaphone CEO Brendan Monaghan credited Westwood One with helping shape the future of podcasting. “We at Megaphone are honored that our technology will help Westwood One translate the success they’ve had for decades on the radio to the on-demand space. To be able to offer support through our exceptional hosting, distribution, and advertising solutions is thrilling in today’s fast-moving world of podcasting,” he said.
Megaphone says it currently hosts more than 2,500 podcasts.
